Talks2 Smalltalk by Architur

Talks2 Demo! Very Cool!

Talks2 is a full Smalltalk and Development Environment which runs on top of the Java Virtual Machine. It comes with a ClassBrowser, Workspace, Transcript and all the things you know from a Smalltalk Development Environment. Talks2 is Smalltalk but Java at the same time and you are welcome to run it right now in your Web Browser. This is possible because Talks2 translates Smalltalk to Java and also uses the Java GUI and IO to run in any regular Java environment.

Right now Talks2 is in beta state. But lots of things will run extremely stable, since we did not want to invent the same things again and again, we are using the beautiful Squeak Smalltalk code which originates from Smalltalk 80 and proofed by its usage over many years its reliability and correctness.

Similar to Squeak we grant you free usage of Talks2 and the programs you create with it. Which you then may or may not sell for money. We will make all the code free available. However the idea of Talks2 and its copyright remains with Architur.

It is our intend to install a continuous reliable development cycle for Talks2 to allow companies and corporations to trust in its development cycles and to ensure its availability for many years. For this purpose we have founded the Talks2 interest group. Companies, Corporations and individuals are welcome to join the Talks2 Interest Group to be included in the development decisions of Talks2 and to fund it.

Talks2 now gives you the combined power of Smalltalk and Java. The rapid application development advantage of Smalltalk and the device independence and distributability of Java. This makes it the perfect most rational choice. Remember it still is a Java too, with all the rich libraries and components available to it.
